Career Milestones
Early life
John Corabi was born in Philadelphia on 26 April 1959. His official biography states that seeing The Beatles on television was an early influence on his interest in music.
Relocation to Los Angeles
After high school, John worked various jobs and sang lead for Angora. His official biography states that he visited Los Angeles during the 1980s metal scene and relocated there in 1986, with Angora later joining him.
The Scream forms
John formed The Scream in 1989 with guitarist Bruce Bouillet and bassist John Alderete. The band became his first major recording and touring platform.
Let It Scream
The Scream released Let It Scream through Hollywood Records in 1991. The album included Man in the Moon.
Mötley Crüe
John joined Mötley Crüe in 1992 as the band’s lead vocalist after Vince Neil’s departure. The band released the self-titled Mötley Crüe album in 1994 with John on lead vocals.
John remained the only lead vocalist, other than Vince Neil, to appear on a Mötley Crüe studio album.
Union and ESP
After Mötley Crüe, John formed Union with former Kiss guitarist Bruce Kulick. He also worked with Eric Singer’s ESP project, which included Eric Singer, Bruce Kulick and Karl Cochran.
Rhythm guitar work with Ratt
John also played rhythm guitar with Ratt, a period referenced in publisher material for his autobiography.
Unplugged
John released Unplugged, a solo acoustic record that presented his voice and songwriting in a stripped-back setting.
First Dead Daisies period
John first joined The Dead Daisies during the band’s 2015 Cuba-related chapter. Revolución was the first Dead Daisies album to feature him as singer.
He subsequently appeared on Make Some Noise, Live & Louder and Burn It Down.
Così Bella and Your Own Worst Enemy
Così Bella and Your Own Worst Enemy were released before the full New Day campaign and were later included in the album sequence.
Horseshoes and Hand Grenades
Horseshoes and Hand Grenades: Tales from the Other Mötley Crüe Frontman and Journeys through a Life In and Out of Rock and Roll was published by Rare Bird Books and distributed by Simon & Schuster.
The publisher description covers his work with Mötley Crüe, Union, The Dead Daisies and Ratt, as well as his life outside those bands.

John returned to The Dead Daisies in 2023. The line-up included David Lowy, Doug Aldrich and bassist Michael Devin.
The band released Best Of in 2023 and toured in the USA, Canada, Japan and Europe.
Light ’Em Up
The Dead Daisies released Light ’Em Up in 2024, with John on lead vocals.
New Day
New Day is listed by Frontiers Music Srl as a Hard Rock release dated 24 April 2026. It is John’s first full-length solo album of original material.
The album was recorded in Nashville during summer 2025 and produced by Marti Frederiksen.
